The report of the Web5G workshop is out! w3.org/2017/11/web5g-worksho…
This workshop was held back on May 10-11 hosted by @gsma in London 🇬🇧and has been looking at the intersections between the many innovations happening at the network layer and their impact on the app layer.
A proposed charter for a brand new Web & Networks Interest Group w3.org/2019/03/web-networks-…
The group would look at the needs & opportunities emerging from evolutions from the network layer (#5G, #EdgeComputing, #QUIC) and match them to app capabilities
#W3C#WAI is looking for an Accessibility Specialist / Front-End Web Developer with expertise in a variety of authoring tools to join our Team. The position is based in Europe, starting asap. See open position description: w3.org/Consortium/Recruitmen… - #ATAG#WCAG#a11y
#ietf#webrtc simulcast hackathon 1st day status report. Already several high impact bugs found, reproduced, and corresponding test (to avoid regression) written by the team! Everybody has KITE now, more SFU tests being added (media soup, pipe)
Because of this and other #WebRTC specificities, an open source #WebRTC-specific test framework, KITE, has been developed to complement the usual Web Platform Tests github.com/webrtc/KITE
Yesterday and today, a subset of the #WebRTC Working Group and other active #WebRTC community members were using the #ietf104#ietfhackathon in Prague 🇨🇿 as an opportunity to make progress on the test suite needed to bring #WebRTC to Recommendation
Please help us evolve the web to make it even more ubiquitous. We are organizing with the @w3c a workshop about web and gaming w3.org/blog/news/archives/76…
Position statements are expected before May 10
And if you care about making the Web a great platform for games (and improving for other usages while doing so), mark your calendar for June 27-28 in Seattle 🇺🇸, and register your interest or submit a position paper by May 10 🗓️
w3.org/2018/12/games-worksho…
Among the expected topics: #3D graphics and the role of #WebGPU, multithreading, #WebAssembly, cloud-based gaming in the browser, game input, #WebAudio, etc.
That isn't to say all their needs are covered, and with the continuous innovation in this space, this #W3CWorkshop opens up an opportunity for the Games and Web people to determine together what priorities the Open Web Platform needs to address.
The Web is already a pretty rich platform for games, with a number of its recent evolutions directly inspired by the needs from game developers: e.g. #WebAssembly or the #Gamepad#API. The @w3c Games on the Web roadmap gives a good overview w3c.github.io/web-roadmaps/g…
The updated charter has now been approved! w3.org/2019/03/devices-senso…
