“The web has become a key technical infrastructure for the global society. If there was ever a question about the mission of @w3c to build a web that works for all of humanity – the last 14 months have brought our calling into absolute clarity.”
"Looking at the #MiniApps Specifications from the Perspective of the Taro Cross-Platform Framework", by Jiajian Chen (JD Aotu Lab) - (slides: kwz.me/h6i) - youtube.com/KiQEuTosysI
The recorded 🎬 presentations (5) are now available, with subtitles in Chinese, English, Korean and Japanese. The #MiniApps meeting covered these topics: ecosystem, technical architecture, frameworks and new scenarios.
for clarifications, use cases are the scenarios groups use to make sure their technology is fit for purposes (e.g. from a performance perspective), not at all an attempt to limit what the technology can be used for - with ML, the sky is the limit 🚀
If you're interested in learning standards engineering, this is a dream opportunity - you would have mentorship and support from an awesome team, and get to work on high -impact tech. Truly a great way to get started ❤️ 👇
Like with any good @W3C web standard — active community involvement as well as experimentation is needed. With an ultimate aim of native browser implementations.
We've been thinking about this as part of @GrantForTheWeb and #WebMonetization, the standard we are catalyzing.

The @w3c Web #MachineLearning group welcomes new participants to help identify new use cases, document ethical risks and their mitigations, contribute to technical work, conduct wide reviews in #privacy, #security, #accessibility, etc.
Identified use cases include better #VideoConferencing to #accessibility-improving features, and early implementations demonstrate tremendous power and #performance improvements taking advantage of hardware acceleration.
Are you an engineer with browser experience?
Do you have interests in @W3C web standards?
And a desire to experiment with payments on the web?
Apply for a @GrantForTheWeb#WebMonetization scholarship and we will match you with a host organization.
