Having been involved in: @font-face, CSS Fonts 3,4,5 WOFF, WOFF2 and now IFT - all technologies that have taken WebFonts from 0% a decade ago to 80% of websites today - thrilled that MPEG and @w3c WebFonts Working Group have together been awarded a Technical Emmy for this work!
Font support and development continues as more work is needed to make Web fonts attractive for all world languages - the #WebFonts Working Group has recently asked for input for the Incremental #Font Transfer (IFT) specs:
