It’s interesting seeing flexbox become the butt of CSS jokes.

Especially since flexbox allows for child-level control of sizing/flexibility vs parent-level control and it's great for use-cases requiring composability like toolbars etc. Still good for stuff! Wish it had grid's syntax though (letting children say 'width: 1fr' vs 'flex:1')

Not as a replacement for 'flex' iirc. There's been a 'width: stretch' in the css-sizing drafts that could conceivably be replaced with `1fr`; and @tabatkins & @fantasai definitely regret not using `fr` units in the `flex` property <wiki.csswg.org/ideas/mistake…>...
