I'm still on the fence. I saw @marcysutton talk about this at #CSUNATC19 last week, but still apprehensive. It solves a problem, but I'm not sure it won't create some of it's own. I think I'd really want to see how over time it impacts users with disabilities.

I feel strongly that focus-visible needs an operating system-level setting like reduce motion to give users control. It's simply too difficult to please everyone with heuristics alone.

I think that could be accomplished by honouring or having OS settings for personalization. I know @w3c_wai has a working group looking into personalization settings for users. I worry about confusion of users, more specifically those whom switch modalities frequently.
