If you're ever building a website for community services, I highly recommend looking at the GOV.UK Design System (design-system.service.gov.uk…). It looks "boring" but it is accessible and based on UX research to make it as easy to use by as many people as possible.

I have a simple rule of thumb with new conferences… if you cannot easily figure out anyone involved with it in advance, you probably don’t want to attend, speak, or sponsor.
