Every serious press freedom organization in the world is calling for Assange's release, and yet the government absolutely refuses to comment—because they know nothing they say can justify such a clear act of political repression.
Today marks 1,000 days that @wikileaks publisher Julian Assange has been unjustly detained at London's Belmarsh prison, where his mental and physical health remain at high risk. He has been targeted for his contributions to journalism. It's beyond time to #FreeAssange!

Them: AMP is good because it forces sites to get faster. Me: Google could have done that by increasing the weight of the page speed search ranking signal. Them: Oh, right. But AMP can also prefetch! Me: But Google could prefetch light, fast, non-AMP pages. Them: Oh, right.

True, although the centralization around Chromium is worrying, of course

(In all fairness though, HTTP has evolved quite a bit)

Sadly true: “So long as federation means stasis while centralization means movement, federated protocols are going to have trouble existing in a software climate that demands movement as it does today.” signal.org/blog/the-ecosyste…

#GlobucalypseNow

You can believe that “It’s become a fad to own an NFT and there’s a bro culture around it” but still think “that NFT is a useful and fundamental technology for certifying the authenticity of limited-edition goods”. Really good interview.
W00t! My interview with Mixmag is up online and will be in the next print edition mixmag.net/feature/rcrdshp-d…

True for security-related issues in general. Simpler and more convenient solutions always win, as long as they’re good enough from a typical user’s perspective

It’s also fairly obvious that it’s better for the NFT ecosystem if OpenSea ends up being the arbiter of truth for stolen NFTs than if there were say 10 different similarly sized marketplaces with wildly different policies on stolen NFTs. This is how centralization happens.
