What if stored procedures compiled to LLVM IR and deployed stored on the DB but you could write them in any language and have them in your git repo.

I believe that is actually something Oracle is doing, or aiming to do, with GraalVM

SQL Server also has this thing called natively-compiled sprocs now, but unsure of the internals. They come with a set of constraints compared to vanilla sprocs though

Already doing it for JS in Oracle DB. Check #9 here medium.com/graalvm/graalvm-t…. Coming soon is JS in MySQL. More languages will follow.
