Frankly, your advice is just as terrible. There are many ways to learn this stuff as there are people.
After playing a little bit with QBasic when I was a kid, I was given a K&R C book. My takeaway: programming is not for me. I didn't look at programming seriously again until I was 23. This article is terrible advice. zeroequalsfalse.press/2017/1…

The exact same way worked like a charm for me (QBasic and then this). So what are our takeaway? People are different, learning is not easy, there are 1.000.000 ways and it all doesn’t matter as long as you have fun and generalizations are stupid :-P
