I don鈥檛 use a VPN, even on public WiFi, because I don鈥檛 use any unsecured protocols (except for occasional public HTTP). Am I being na茂ve?

b/c HTPS does not encrypt everything. Some can see the hosts, also IP meta data. Not only content is interesting.

That鈥檚 mostly privacy-related; I don鈥檛 have much an issue with someone collecting metadata about me while I鈥檓 on their public WiFi. YMMV.
