I guess is that you're not supposed *to harass people* over their technology choices. That seems reasonable to me.

In criticising technology, people often mistake playing the player, not the ball. Done it myself. A great way to make others feel excluded

Again, criticizing any technology is perfectly fine IMO, and don’t think that CoC suggests anything different. You’re too easily offended :)
