Download the dmg from your AppStore download history, ask google how to make a bootable usb thereof

Tried that, refused to boot from it

it worked twice for me in the past 2mo. A 2008 and a 2011 MBP. Not tried on newer MBPs…

OK, I know it works on principle, but the new Macs seem to require Sierra
