I’d bet that Wikipedia is far more often correct than almost any newspaper. Has anybody done research on this yet?

@stilkov there are companies in the academic space (or edtech) that make a living supplying alternatives to Wikipedia as a source.

@klimpong Sure, and the lack of quality in many IT/CS-related articles shows the need. Still think newspapers are far less reliable.

@stilkov I don’t think it’s about finding reliable sources per se. I would guess it’s diversity. You can argue anything as long as you cite.

@klimpong My guess is most news articles would be dramatically improved by a Wikipedia-style review process.

@stilkov probably. The thing with WP is that there is no status quo. It can be altered.

@klimpong True. But at least with popular topics, edit seem to converge towards something pretty close to truth
