I’d bet that Wikipedia is far more often correct than almost any newspaper. Has anybody done research on this yet?

@stilkov there are companies in the academic space (or edtech) that make a living supplying alternatives to Wikipedia as a source.

@klimpong Sure, and the lack of quality in many IT/CS-related articles shows the need. Still think newspapers are far less reliable.

@johanhaleby @tommorris @ewolff but those are comparisons with other encyclopedias. My guess is newspapers are wrong far more often.

@stilkov @tommorris I remember reading years ago that Wikipedia had reached the same low error rate as Encyclopaedia Brittanica.

@stilkov @tommorris yes. I looked at some preparing for my talk. Results varies between studies.
