@berndkolb @ewolff … making sure OSGiis part of the (then) current hype.

@markusvoelter @berndkolb the reason why I'm looking for a different name is because I think it's not Microservices
1
@ewolff @markusvoelter exactly. It is a technology that can be used (internally) to implement microservices, the architectural style
1
@berndkolb @ewolff @markusvoelter I believe the architectural style is still SOA. Micro/Nanoservices are design approaches to realize it.

@taval @berndkolb @ewolff @markusvoelter I might agree if you can point to a formal, accepted definition of the SOA architectural style :-)
5
@stilkov @taval @berndkolb @ewolff @markusvoelter accepted by whom? Btw I agree. SOA does have all elements you can find in the usrvcs arch.
1
@ewolff @ilxs @stilkov @berndkolb @markusvoelter SOA is the architectural style. WS-* is a technology stack to realize SOA...
2
@taval @ilxs @stilkov @berndkolb @markusvoelter I wouldn't be too sure whether your definition (that I agree with) is shared by the majority
2
@ewolff @ilxs @stilkov @berndkolb @markusvoelter I think µSs are a chance to establish a new, fixed and establishable definition.

@taval @ewolff @ilxs @berndkolb @markusvoelter That chance has long passed :-)

@stilkov @taval @ilxs @berndkolb @markusvoelter So let's come up with something different that we can define - like @scsarchitecture
