Is there *any* distributed lock service that's not broken by design?

@stilkov those aren't lock services (in the microservices sense). You can build a lock server with them, but it will be broken unless...

@stilkov ...they are integrated into the remote resource. The concept of add-on lock servers is fundamentally flawed.

@damienkatz Did you see Martin’s original post at martin.kleppmann.com/2016/02… ? Integration with lock server-generated seqs seems to solve this

@stilkov *must* be integrated at the resource. Can't protect a file share that way.
