@raganwald My point is: Awesome languages like Smalltalk tried to do away with files, failed, and would probably do so if invented today.
@raganwald And how is the interface to your source code not part of the (development) platform?

@bascht @raganwald Good point. Also, the only successful “programming language” for end users I know of.
