I wonder: Are there well-known, profitable Open Source companies? I’m not talking about billion dollar acquisitions, but operating profits.

@stilkov Neo technology? Typesafe? I don't know if they are profitable but seem fairly successful. And Basecamp (37 signals)?

@toredk Neo and Typesafe: I don’t think so, both are VC-backed and highly unlikely to be profitable (probably not even their goal yet).
