Maybe a modern Java 8/Nashorn/JS, REST/ROCA web framework would make the language tolerable again

@ewolff I often recommend it, but it feels a bit dated. Plus, it depends on Spring :-)

@stilkov What is dated about it? Just its age?

@ewolff I dislike the annotation mapping of controller methods (in JAX-RS neither). Most others seem to have settled on Rails-style routes
