Am I the only one who thinks censoring porn and piracy on the internet is *not* bad? buff.ly/177H96s

@stilkov you should add arguments to that sentence, else it doesnt sound polite at all...
1
@_odino_ OK. 1.) Won't stop anyone who's really looking 2.) Will enable censorship of anything 3.) Will be misused for other purposes
4
@stilkov everyone keeps complaining about it without questioning the fact that censorship is bad. Really, I dont want my kids to be looking
1
@_odino_ Show me any free country with “successful” censorship. It's a mark of totalitarian countries, for a reason.
3
@stilkov how you can condamn a measure by its implementation. Its like saying conviction is bad because of death penalty!
1
@_odino_ I'm just fully convinced there's no way to implement it without serious negative side effects. All existing results support this.
3
@stilkov and I dont think that would have negative consequences, but I strongly encourage you to tell me if you see them, I might miss sth

@_odino_ 1st, there are tons of porn available as torrents, on Usenet etc. 2nd, you'd kill anonymity. 3rd, set up censorship infrastructure

@stilkov I honestly would live much happier having less anonimity. Of course you need a fair vigilant class
Replying to @stilkov
@stilkov and your "free" governments already "lower anonimity" by not IDs with hijabs or forcing you to take off helmets while not driving
Replying to @stilkov
@stilkov the problem is the intention of the ruler, not whether censorship is good or not. I really doubt censorship is bad for a few things

@_odino_ Within the limits of 140 characters, we'll just have to agree to disagree then.

@stilkov like child pornography...in that case zero anonimity is superfine :-)
