90% of ppl with the title 'architect' are bad at their job, and 90% of the ppl who play the role well, don't carry the title. /cc @stilkov

@thejayfields I strongly disagree because you judge a whole number of different people by a label they may or may not have chosen.
1
@stilkov I don't judge anyone based on their title - most programmer titles in the US are chosen arbitrarily- hence my statistics
1
@thejayfields May be a US/Germany or US/Europe difference then
1
@stilkov that's what I've believe. I think that's the basis on why you and @logosity wouldn't be able to agree. /cc @myfear

@thejayfields @logosity @myfear I think it's not country-related, even though it's a cultural thing
1
@stilkov @myfear In the US it's easy to claim the architect title, & the majority that do are bad. I don't believe that's true elsewhere.
1
@thejayfields @stilkov as always there might be a little truth in it. But I regret 2 generalize and blame the role. It's people dng it wrg.
1
@myfear @stilkov the perceived prestige of the title draws ppl to claim and devalue it. Thus the % of ppl doing it wrong is > than avg.

Replying to @thejayfields
@thejayfields @myfear OK, we need to agree to disagree.

@stilkov @myfear I don't disagree with anything, I think the context is drastically diff. e.g: I was an 'arch' at 21 with almost no skills.
