@tastapod @estherderby @gdinwiddie @daverooneyca @mattbarcomb @squarepegsys It’s not a parody. He’s a famous VC now.

@mtnygard somehow, knowing he's a famous VC doesn't change my perception of him one iota from reading his blog...
1
@tastapod @mtnygard That perception being he's an ass? You have read bhorowitz.com/2012/04/25/our…, right?
1
@stilkov @mtnygard the perception being his management style and treatment of people is ass. His philanthropy is admirable (but why half?)
1
@tastapod OK; If company growth makes someone no longer suitable for their position, what's the right thing to do? Discuss unemotionally.
3
@stilkov I actually think it's bad business to ditch someone with history in the org - the cost of replacement is often hidden
2
@tastapod It's also one of the reasons our company is privately funded :-)
1
@stilkov I agree the skills and business acumen to go from $0-$10m are different from $10m-$100m. That wasn't the point though.
1
@tastapod I think we interpreted the point differently. You see it as undervaluing people; I see it as making a tough decision that's needed
1
@stilkov @tastapod another thing: his motivational message is pure carrot/stick: "do what I say or you're fired." "I force" etc...

@logosity @tastapod Yeah, having read a few more (e.g. bhorowitz.com/2012/08/18/a-g…) I guess I'll join the "he's an ass" coalition
