I agree completely, but would add that this does not mean it’s not hugely beneficial to have at least a T-shaped skill set

The most T-shaped person I ever worked with was @ivanrmoore. He could make T better than anyone I know; he used to put the T in our team every afternoon. I miss T-shaping.
