Another day, another "everything in tech was already invented" hot take. And yet, apart from the idea of sharing compute, cloud is vastly different from the timesharing of old. There's bias at play.

Our brain likes to put new information in old baskets, by looking at the similarities between things. It's low energy, compared to actually learning new information. And then our brain rewards us for it, we feel good about this incorrect insight.
