You know, I have a Bose on my TV downstairs maybe I should just lift it and see how it sounds on a PC.

Good idea. I had to fiddle with connections a bit because USB-C-to-HDMI is not HDMI Arc. Ended up buying a USB-C-to-Optical audio adapter.
