CVS was my first VCS. One of my first jobs was maintaining a CVS server and commit and email hooks for Bugzilla.

CVS was such a set up from RCS. Atomic changesets!

RCS on a shared windows drive was my first. Such a terrible experience.

Sadly I started about 6-8 before that - but I didn’t know about version control during that time.
