Everyone I personally know who has gotten sick from covid in the last 2-3 momtbs was vaxxed, incl my best friend & her fam, one who now has #LongCovid. They were put in harm’s way by misleading info like this. We need ALL tools to control covid! Why is it so hard to admit?

The most important thing you can do to protect yourself from Covid is to get vaccinated. Masks, distancing, and good ventilation further drive down your risk.

I am saying we need all tools equally & this message has been lost in the quest to “open the economy.” We need vaccines to prevent death/ hospital (crucial!), but also good masks / ventilation to best prevent infection (and #LongCovid) in the first place.

- “Masks” do NOT prevent infection. They explicitly do not prevent infection. Masks, when worn by everyone, reduce, but do not eliminate transmission. Masks are NOT considered protective PPE against a virulent airborne pathogen. Only a perfectly sealed respirator (or PAPR) is.

Yes! High-filtration masks are imperative and I strongly advocate for them. Even an imperfectly-sealed N95 is abt 90% effective.
