Let's play a game, twitter. Anyone outside of the US, or who's never had to deal with US insurance/medical bills. I went to the ER (A&E, for UK folks) b/c my doctor told me too, b/c it was after urgent cares had closed. I just got my first bill. Let's see how much it cost me. /
What a way to spend a Saturday night. (Probably fine, possibly not fine but with something there's an easy treatment for.)

For comparison, in Germany this would have cost me 0€, as would any other treatment. I pay about the highest public insurance rate possible, approx. 900€ ($ 1050 US) a month (which covers me and my immediate family). My employer would pay half of that if I weren’t self-employed
