Fortunately I am a mathematician with some minimal academic NN background, as well as 20+ years of software engineering. This means I can form my own opinion about AI Day, and it was the most awesome thing I saw in a long while. I'm frankly puzzled by anyone thinking otherwise.

"Breakthroughs"? They just showed us how they'll dominate the whole AI sector for years to come. They showed how they managed to transition to pure vision. A key breakthrough on its own. The tools alone, like the vector space labeler then the whole dojo hardware, etc,etc,etc...
