All ladies bathrooms should just be turned into unisex ones. (More and more places in Oslo now have just unisex bathrooms.) They've got individual lockable stalls anyway! Washing your hands with someone of the opposite sex/gender should not be traumatic. pinknews.co.uk/2021/03/09/he…

So many issues affecting trans & gender non-conforming people can be solved by removing sex/gender as a criteria. Stop putting it on ID cards, stop asking about it in every questionnaire, stop using it in sports (use whatever biological factor actually gives an unfair advantage)

Almost 100 % agreed, but I’ve wondered about the sports aspect for a while. Wouldn’t your proposal erase whole categories of women sports? I think that’s actually a tough topic to address

The reason we've got women's sports is because of biological advantages biological men have. It's not about identity, never has been. These biological advantages should be able to be expressed without using gender. We could divide by muscle mass, testosterone, things like that

OK, but looking at this, there seems to be one single very important factor, so it seems we’re already doing that? law.duke.edu/sports/sex-spor…

That article shows what I'm saying though, doesn't it? We should separate sports by the physical characteristics that cause men to have an unfair advantage. But we don't have to bring the word "man" or "woman" into it. It just causes conflict.

Sure, I’d have no problem using different words for the categories, it just so happens that they seem to largely align with biological female/male women/men boundaries. I think competitive sports in general is very hard to “fix” in that regard.
