I googled and found that Basecamp had 57 employees in 2020. So about 28% of the employees have quit.

The sad part is that, with the ones who cared out, they will simply refill the vacant positions with people who are ok with that kind of toxicity.

Not sure things will work out that way that easily. I think they鈥檝e hurt themselves way more than they ever expected

Or it was exactly what they aimed at, I don't think these are company leaders that are that naive about their internal culture. Who knows...

But DHH also always gave me a weird impression of being whiney, arrogant and condescending at the same time, so this event does not contradict the picture I had of him.

I actually always liked and respected him, and I guess I still do, even though he handled this one extremely badly and in a completely tone-deaf way. What a miscalculation.
