WTF. What a disaster.
I googled and found that Basecamp had 57 employees in 2020. So about 28% of the employees have quit.

The sad part is that, with the ones who cared out, they will simply refill the vacant positions with people who are ok with that kind of toxicity.

Not sure things will work out that way that easily. I think they’ve hurt themselves way more than they ever expected

That story is really a good case for introducing our business with @Stefan_Kuehl‘s concepts of the „Schauseite“ of orgs and the relationship to formal and informal structure.

I met both David and Jason back in 2005 at a conference. While I’m impressed with what they built, I was deeply uncomfortable with how they behaved as humans. A wonder it survived this long.
