Where did that come from? Did they run into problems or is it just some trend to re-focus? I can relate to simplifying things and reducing complexity in communication and reason-finding. I just don't believe this will work..
I am in the Japan political context so I may be numb to these issues (or just a privileged prick?). Personally I am happy to have less politics in my workplace, without having concerns what others think politically. Things different in US and EU maybe..

Reminds me of the time when I started to dislike working for my first employer (I loved it until then) because we got a new boss telling us to “work not think”.
I find it hard to judge without more information about context. Obviously some things emerged in a way that they didn't like. It may primarily show that it is challenging to intentionally evolve the company and check continually the impact of changes.

I’d be very interested to hear your thoughts.
world.hey.com/dhh/basecamp-s… The proposed action (take your politics to private Signal groups) also sounds like adding to the problem. Now the stuff still happens, but only with those in the know.

I’ll refer you to nitter.vloup.ch/EmilyKager/statu… Also, the whole thing sounds as if the bosses felt they need to act like bosses again
Thinking about how we have all collectively been through so much trauma in the past year and corporate responses are official policies to “stop discussing politics” and emails to “remember to focus on the work”. The lack of empathy is not surprising but it is enraging.
