Like the old person I am, I still don’t like people retweeting praise about their own content. It not only feels like bragging, it’s also extremely boring

I think that kind of shame of showing off different angles of your own work is just plain self handicapping.

If you do something you are proud off I think you should not hold back on sharing positive feedback. Of course too much can get boring, but too little and all the stuff you put effort into has no audience.

The speakeasy style of promotion is cool and all, but I think in general our main problem is people not promoting good ideas out of shame or fear and it is holding us back more than anything.

I also find people tweeting about their own content and discussions around it a million times more interesting than people RTing memes and "thought leaders". I much rather see a proud RT of positive feedback on your own work than the RTing of the mainstream.

Replying to @bjartnes
I fully agree you should tweet about your own content
