Loved that textual GUI. How does it put web to shame tho? They aren't really comparable.

In 1990s you could create complex interfaces faster, better, and the resulting interfaces were blazingly fast. Now we have CPUs and GPUs that are millions of times faster... and the web which has none of the above.

I was there and this is 100% true! Just kidding, it’s really not. I learned to program using this thing, and while I loved it and still do, they’re not comparable at all. They’re addressing completely different requirements and technical constraints.

I really, really doubt it. The only "technical constraint" on the web is: its core is displaying text with a few images. We've spent countless resources to make it a pale inefficient shadow of a shadow of what 90s tech was capable of doing with a fraction of resources.
