Evangelism requires active maintenance, recontextualization, and fluency. Shape Up descends directly from the values of the agile manifesto, but it rebukes many of the specific practices that were canonized twenty+ years ago from experiences with colocated teams.
A real testament to the Basecamp book Shape Up is that you can explain agile / lean / design practices that have been in play for 20+ years and someone will say “you mean Shape Up?”

Not trying to explain ShapeUp to you, but what strikes me as the even more important difference is that you don’t focus on projects, but products/services

Not only that, but treating designers as an integral part of the process, not a group that makes things pretty after the fact.
