Max 16 GB RAM and only 2 Thunderbolt ports in the 13“ Macbook pro? @apple You should have waited for M1Z before releasing this.

Only a few people (e.g. developers) need more than 16GB, and they don’t really matter as much to Apple as they like to think :)

And they usually buy the Macbook Air as the sales figures show. Releasing a Macbook Pro where the only significant differences are a touchbar and a fan but which offers less than previous Intel Macbooks just seems premature.

Agree about the Air, maybe you’re right. We’ll just have to be patient, I guess. (Personally, I’m waiting for an iMac upgrade.)

By the way. I think the two thunderbolt ports are the bigger problem. I had many situations before where two ports would have been a problem.

I’ve been developing on a Windows laptop with 16 GB for the past several months. Seems enough for most work (Java, docker, gradle, Postgres). I would have liked 32 GB on my new 13” MacBook Pro with M1 chip, but that’s probably first gonna appear mid next year and I need a new now
