Skimming the paper, they're not arguing that the computer can detect if someone is trustworthy, they're arguing they can detect is something is *perceived* as trustworthy.

He does? He talks about replicating biases that humans have, and also he's a small account with 1200 followers who were mostly other academics and was not expecting to becoming the main character of Twitter today

Maybe, because it‘s because of the exponential effects of human biases? They build a alg to reproduce a bias, writing about it in a biased way, forcing you and me to fall into another bias... It’s a Kahnemann‘s nightmare... ;-)
