I would like to understand the reason why any left-leaning progressive Americans would not vote for Biden (including not voting at all). Can someone explain?

Racism? I know tons of deeply racist liberals.

Ok, although I probably wouldn’t call them “left-leaning progressive”

I live in the East coast. The lefties think Biden is not left enough for them and fails their ideological purity test. Of course this is stupid, because Biden's platform is pretty progressive, while Trump has no platform except himself. Better incremental progress than none!

For the past 30yrs the dem party has been moving right and punching left.
I'm 54 years old. I cast my first presidential vote in 1984 for Walter Mondale. I've only voted FOR someone once, Bill Clinton, in 1992 (lesson learned). Other than that, it's been against. And this year, I can't even vote for popular Medicare for All, during a plague. I'm done.

"Left" is in the mind of the beholder.

Worth noting a lot of young elite in per-revolutionairy had very progressive ideas, just didn't act on them (like 'the poor should be treated better, slavery is bad') when older. Same for young aristocracy in French under Louis XVI.

Some believe their vote doesn't matter (in a state that will go to Biden) and that the Democrat party "is not your friend" (it's become more like 80's Republican than actually progressive). (Not my view but I can understand their view)
