I am constanly jumping between #python/#ruby/#golang/#java and I whole heartedly disagree. Digging into ANY Java project (especially #maven based ones) is so much easier since things are where I expect them, not where some know-it-all thought they should be.
Unpopular opinion: the defacto standard src/main/java boilerplate directory structure is one of the worst things that ever happened to the JVM ecosystem. It raises the barrier for small projects, entrenching the perception of JVM heavy-weightiness.

Who needs an IDE when you have: mkdir -p src/{main,test}/{java,resources}
