By my guesstimate, the Basecamp/HEY folks will have *at least* between 1,000 and 10,000 paid signups by the end of the month, which translates into a cool $99,000-$999,000 of revenue, potentially recurring yearly.

My guesstimate is at least x10 of that... They had a 100k list of signups which they are quickly working through.

We're still waiting to hear back from Apple on 1.0.3, but we've just sent out another 10,000 invitations! This brings up to May 21st for registered interest. But we still have more invitations to send out than we've done in total so far 😬. Going as quick as we can!

I’m assuming a 1-10% paid sign up rate. Could be completely wrong of course.

Sounds pretty low, is it because they limited invites? Curious how much they need in total to consider it a success, as they've mentioned it's been a 2 year project. Retention is probably great among people who adopt it, but it's the slice between custom domains and free email

If they get, say, 5000 new customers per month, that’s close to 200,000 in three years, which would mean they’d make 20M per year of revenue. 1M customers would translate to 100M. I guess it depends on your definition of “low”.

If they really solved Email and made it a lot better the enterprise users will bring a lot more revenue. I think that's the kind of disruption nobody was thinking about...
