Fair warning re MacBook Air: I just finished re-packing mine (May 2020 i7/16GB/2TB) because the fan made videoconferencing (or really anything with just a little bit of CPU-Load) extremely annoying (100% fan at 20% CPU) – will go back to @Apple tomorrow.

Oh wow. That sounds horrible...

And even the woman from Apple care with whom I talked about the fastest way to reset the machine told me “Yes, we get a lot of these [returns b/c fan problems on MBA2020] these days…”

Interesting, can’t observe that on my new MBA. Which model did you get? And will you simply return it for a refund or try another one?

I took the maxed out version: i7 / 1,2GHz / 16GB / 2TB Current Plan: Refund and switch to MBP. But if you don't have any problems: Which model are you on?

Nope - thats when I started to notice the problem. Verified it afterwards with things like miro and similar stuff.
