All these posts about moving from microservices to macroservices just tells me they didn’t understand the principles of SOA It’s in the name - micro “services” not micro “applications” If your boundary is too small that autonomy disappears, it’s no longer a “service”

To me, an application (or system) has always been the term used for the larger, not the smaller thing. And in my experience, most people suffer from their services being too small, not too large

Every misapplication of the principles I have seen is because they take micro too literally. The business model, I think, usually drives the boundaries and services are realized organically
