I’ve been to #Hungary a number of times. Beautiful country with great people. Very sad to see its political system turn into a dictatorship, and mad at the EU for letting it happen

This is such a serious issue, shaking the very foundation of the EU, that I am sure, @vonderleyen has already issued a clear & concise statement, warning Hungary to uphold European values. Oh wait…

You know about the Sargentini report, I presume ? The EU clearly has a PR issue in many member states including Hungary, and any measure now would be explained as a foreign incursion in Hungarian "internal affairs" there, as Orban has a firm grip on the media.
