One of my main problems with Slack (as opposed to email) is that I can’t seem to find a reasonable way to deal with messages later. The reminder approach doesn’t do it for me at all. How do you handle todos?

I mark the message unread but it's a very subpar solution. Star? Share into a special personal private channel of todos?

Exactly; tried those, none of them are satisfactory

How do you do that with email?

Folders work perfectly for me

Trying to understand the workflow you have on email. Do you have a specific folders for messages you want to read later? rules redirecting those to specific folder? What do you after you read the email?

I maintain inbox 0: Everything gets immediately archived, deleted, or answered. If none of these is possible, it’s moved to the Todo folder. If I don’t have time to handle mails, the inbox grows until I have time again.

And Reminders is not very useful because we keep postponing it. Same issue. if you use an app to keep with a todo list or something, maybe that would help, you could integrate it with slack and create a todo item each time you have a message that you want to handle later.
