One of my main problems with Slack (as opposed to email) is that I can’t seem to find a reasonable way to deal with messages later. The reminder approach doesn’t do it for me at all. How do you handle todos?

Mark as unread works for me

I learned to hate and avoid that with emails, trying it briefly with Slack reminded me why

Since all chat messages end up on my phone, I usually do a Screenshot and send it to my own email address

That’s … I don’t have the right words

Open a jira ticket with a link to that message...

Very lightweight!

I mark the message unread but it's a very subpar solution. Star? Share into a special personal private channel of todos?

Exactly; tried those, none of them are satisfactory

We’re changing this -> compose.im Compose integrates all your comms into one workflow with actions on a chat and message basis. You can basically create a to-do from a Slack message or send a calendar invite over WhatsApp.. I’d love to hear your thoughts :)

I've reluctantly adapted to the reminder feature. But I do also maintain a TODO list with links to relevant Slack messages in the Direct Message with myself section (I think it's called "your space")
