โ€žKodak to stand by analogue film for at least 30 more years. โ€šMost of the US does not need digital camerasโ€˜โ€œ IMO the i3 was a really good EV. But it requires some focus the be taken serious in the market, and this statement is harmful.

Also, from That market share base, BMW is clearly missing an opportunity to redefine itself carsalesbase.com/us-car-saleโ€ฆ

Lastly, Teslaโ€˜s share of the US market is not far from BMWโ€˜s. Inconceivable to me how BMW can say such things just months before the first Model Yโ€˜s hit the market. They may be right, but I suspect their market will be eroding

BMW are making an outsiderโ€™s bet, risky, but potentially the right thing. I donโ€™t think so (and happily hold on to my TSLA stock), but time will tell.

Do you think this is a conscious contrarian bet? To what aim? Doesnโ€™t look like VW, AUDI or Benz will leave any vacuum to fill while they electrify. Every car maker who takes Tesla serious, is executing a cashcow+electrify strategy, different only how bold the electrify bet is

I think so, yes. I also think itโ€™s misguided, but thatโ€™s almost mainstream conventional wisdom now

Thereโ€™s thruth to it. I just fail to see why BMW should fill the gap. Probably rather a Ford or GM niche
