I’ve been on the Internet for more than 30 years and still occasionally fall for these things, like I did this time. It drives me slightly mad for no good reason.
I love that the most viral thread on Twitter is a 100+ year chain letter reposted in tweet form which was debunked by Snopes in 2001 (18 years ago). snopes.com/fact-check/railro…

It pissed me off, too. It’s a prehistoric problem that our brain believes a good narrative that is somewhat conclusive all too easy. So, maybe a new alarm flag: good narratives that fit together all too easy require special scrutiny.
