Dear every airline, explain to me why I have to manually copy the booking reference and my last name from the email you sent me, the one that includes the link to the online check-in web form

I can imagine there is some law that requires „manual“ identification. I.e. something explicitly forbids to pre-fill the form.

Seriously? If true, I’d be *really* interested to know more about that law. It’s probably in the same regulation that bans copy&paste for credit card numbers and passwords :)

At least one airline explained to me that it is required by law. But I have met airline that don't do this shit.

The backend might be; the front end is clearly run by the airline. I don’t think Amadeus can tell whether I pasted the booking reference into the form or whether the airline included it

Gimme a G gimme a D gimme a PR... no echoing back of personal information without a least a second factor if not 3rd. You boarding card has first and second name and the process probably shows email/phone number
