What else do I have to show for my decades of work in closed-source, internal software. Kind of a shitty thing to say, if I do say so myself. But yeah, at the same time, fuck patents & the companies that exploit them. (Just don’t blame the victim, adding insult to injury.)

It deserves the same kind of pride as doing a certification. You've done some paperwork on your technical work to increase the company value to investors.

Proud to have invented something new...25x actually. The thing is my employers always own my intellectual property and find it advantageous to protect it.

Presumably you mean that being named as inventor on one is not a reason to be proud. Whereas what you've said is rather broader than that.
